that class is most likely something like discrete math.

Brilliant cartoon!

Yep Alan Turing had it hard. Helped to defeat the nazi's, but prosecuted for being gay. I briefly remember Gordon Brown making an apology on the news for the way he was treated back then. Not that makes up for anything.

I really like the theory stuff in my CS classes, but I know a few people in my department who want to make games and are dying.

You are right, it's not information technology. That is what Shannon did ;) I'm not so familiar with the English descriptions of classes.

We learned all this Turing stuff in a class called "Automaten" which would translate to "state machine".
