Re: ZOMG, FATHERHOOD
Yeah, so this thread is pretty damn old...but, it's finally Christmas time and this little baby is now 1 week away! Yikes! The wifey gets induced on December 21st.
We've read the books, taken the classes, and bought enough baby crap to last us for 37 more children. My wife's Mustang has been traded in for an SUV - the fun-mobile is now the mom-mobile! I could describe to you, in detail, the pros and cons of at least 9 different brands of swaddling blankets. WTF is a swaddling blanket, you ask? Don't worry, you'll know one day...
And, after all this, do we feel ready? Hellllllllllll no. But, I guess we're as ready as we're gonna be!

My birthday is on the 24th. Hurray Christmas holiday birthdays! They're really not that great. You only get presents one time a year.
Best of luck to your fatherhood! Remember that the child is more important than Golvellius 3D!

Good luck man, I know what it can be like... I sometimes have to watch my cousin... He's like 4 and he's ADHD... My god it's a nightmare. O.O, just remember that "Mountain Dew isn't good for him! Doug stop you're going to kill the poor kid" is a complete load of bullshit. (Quote from my mother in a baby video of me I watched)
But still remember that Golvellius IS important!Bakkon wrote:Remember that the child is more important than Golvellius 3D!

Best of luck to you, your wife, and your soon to come baby. Post pics of the young sapling once it has emerged.

Kids are vastly underrated. So many of you talk like they're some other species. Don't forget: you were all babies at one point.

Re: ZOMG, FATHERHOOD
Wow, good luck to you!
I'm pretty afraid of children at this point in my life. I think 30 is the perfect age (from my perspective). You've had time with your wife to live it up and spend all the money (god knows that's what Kendall is going to do). Now you can settle down and be a father.
I STILL DON'T KNOW IF IT'S A BOY OR A GIRL! And what's its name?

But feeding the child comes first!MadPumpkin wrote:Good luck man, I know what it can be like... I sometimes have to watch my cousin... He's like 4 and he's ADHD... My god it's a nightmare. Good thing you're a nerd, you are perfectly suited to the long nights up ahead, babies need fed often!

That's why it's good to stay close with your immediate family. My siblings all had kids early and had no problem "living it up". They just dumped the kids off at grandma's house whenever they wanted to have a weekend off. :PGyroVorbis wrote:I'm pretty afraid of children at this point in my life. Here it comes. Prepare thyself for what lies ahead. Coffee, a keyboard, and a baby wipes dispenser ought to do the trick.

Yep, they need to be fed every 2 hours...and, from what I've been told it takes about 1 hour to feed them, change them, and lay them down, then say another 30 minutes for you to fall back to sleep. Which gives you exactly 30 minutes of sleep until the next feeding! Awesome.eatcomics wrote:Good thing you're a nerd, you are perfectly suited to the long nights up ahead, babies need fed often!
Dude, I have been deathly afraid of getting a girl pregnant since I was like 17! I always dreaded having that conversation with my parents and feeling that I let them down. But, I managed to wait until 28, and I was still nervous as hell when we announced it to the family.GyroVorbis wrote:I'm pretty afraid of children at this point in my life. It's a girl! (we hope, everything we have is PINK!) Her name is going to be Lillian Belle Bryant, or Lily Belle for short - sounds nice and southern. Gotta stick to my redneck roots, I suppose. :PGyroVorbis wrote:I STILL DON'T KNOW IF IT'S A BOY OR A GIRL! And what's its name?

Re: ZOMG, FATHERHOOD
Congrats Trufun, having my son was the best thing that ever happened to me. I personally would of loved to have been a bit older and more established with what I want to do with life, but I wouldn't trade in a second after getting to know and love my son these past 3 years.
I hope you and your misses have many wonderful memories.
