-Fantastic visual effects.
-The flow of the story almost never hits a dull note.
-Wicked cool space marine technology!
-Wicked cool extra-terrestrial alien lifeforms!
-EXPLOSIONS!!!!
-Love...awwww
-That guy who played JP in Grandma's Boy in a pseudo-serious role.
The Bad (Or not so good)
-----------
-No major twists or turns in the story. Relatively predictable.
-Characters are pretty one-dimensional.
-No full frontal blue space alien nudity?(If only for the sake of another item on the bad list, this thing is pretty short)
All in all I fucking loved this movie, it really has a little bit for everyone to enjoy. Quite possibly the best movie of this decade (I can't think of a better one at this moment). While the plot certainly isn't anything groundbreaking (it's pretty much Dances with Wolves in the future), Cameron's world of Pandora in Avatar has claimed a spot in my brain right in between Tatooine and Middle-Earth. Truly breathtaking. My advice to you would be to get out and see this in IMAX 3d while and if you can.
Yeah, I'll have to see it. At first I didn't want to, because the whole blue people thing sort of turned me away, but EVERYONE keeps saying it was amazing.
My favorite parts were just seeing the main character roam around the Alien jungle. Seriously, the visual effects and sheer overwhelming creativity of the landscape made the movie. I would really like to look to their terrain for some inspiration on Elysian Shadows.
Oh, and Sigourney Weaver is, and always will be a fucking badass. Perfect person for that role.
I saw it, loved it. Yes, the visual effects were amazing.
We talked about this movie in AP Psychology. Apparently there are certain characters and everything that has to be there to make a movie great, and this one had everything. Someone did say it was predictable, and I say that yes, it followed the same general storyline that all other great movies are made of . Its one that I will definitely buy, cant wait to watch it again.
I didn't get to see it in 3D
