Hello everyone

Post by jacob.krustchinsky »

Hello,

My name is Jacob and I am a freelance web application developer who has just recently taken an active role in the development of simple games. I started working with PHP in the 5th grade ( I am now a sophomore ) and have published numerous professional grade applications written utilizing the MVC paradigm. I picked up learning C++ about three years ago and have pieced together knowledge ever since. About a year and a half ago I started dabbling ( don't scough ) in XNA, although I love C# as it is most familiar to me ( being entirely OOP ) I recognize its short comings. So once again I have begun the learning process and am in the final stages of wrapping up C++ and have started working with SDL.

I grasp the concept and think, in time I can call myself a game developer. I am truly built from the ground up to one day become a programmer..this stuff truly is my life. I have ratings in PHP, MySQL/Postgre and a course certification in MVC ( yep, no age limits on those ). I also work well with JS ( Mootools and Jquery ), XML, Ajax and the latter... C# came simple to me, so I will go out on a limb and say I have it down for the most part ( though I feel I may never use it ), C++ I feel I am more proficient in but I lack knowledge on how it is used for mainstream game development.

So to conclude my lengthy post,

-If you need any web development/design help at all... hit me up
-I'm excited to be part of a community with at least some educated developers
-I look forward to our future Q & A sessions ( oh the Q&A )

Adieu!

-Jacob K

Perhaps you should consider applying for the open web position on the Elysian Shadows team if it suits your fancy?

The ES team are all late teens/early 20's - at least the ones you see in the group together. I'm not to sure about the others. Alot of people here are around the same age.

I highly doubt age would be a deciding factor, although generally people so young lack experience. If your mature, can program well and have the time to I'm pretty sure you'd be put up at least for consideration. Just PM GyroVorbis.
