A valid point. Nintendo is currently the leading maker and distributor of hardware that is not nearly powerful enough for a truly immersive gaming experience. AFAIK, my PS2 has the same graphical capabilities, if not more, than my Wii.

And the thing is... the wii doesn't have an OS programs always have direct access to the hardware, and the games still can't match up with the other leading consoles...

IDK why nintendo puts graphics on the backburner, I guess its just to make their consoles more affordable? But you'd think they would be even cheaper than they are in that case...

ROFL! Man, we think alike.

It definitely pisses me off that the Wii is still in the same GPU generation as the DC, Xbox, GC, and PS2. I nearly shit myself when I heard that the Okami port to the Wii couldn't handle the filters that were used on the PS2...

I'm getting pretty sick of only ever pulling out the Wii once every 6 months for the next big Mario game...

What about addition? It's both platform independent AND useful. ;)

good luck porting addition to an XOR gate.

I said platform independent not transistor independent.

Gate != transistor. Anyway, what about a 1-bit machine? good luck porting to that.

Actually, digital logic is usually implemented with a series of transistors... Just Google TTL logic gates...

I know that, but that's like saying that an animal is a cell because it's made up of trillions of them. ;)

No it's like saying if a virus mutates to affect that cell, it can also affect the whole animal. (lol this is a fun conversation but we should probably split it from the hello world thread.. if you could mods?)
