"You're all a bunch of pussies cause you get to save. Well I had to play for 200 days."
I always loved the old school arcade games that you couldn't save... In my opinion video games went down hill since then, I like saving on non arcade styled games. What I don't like is saving ON arcade games! It takes away from my nostalgia!! Anyone else agree?
(By the way that quote is from the Left Rights song Genesis 16:12) Awesome song.

I agree, sometimes it's better to play more arcadey games, for that quick fix. I like to play through MAME roms, it's especially cool if you have a cabinet or even just a 2 player arcade stick set.
Let's be honest though - Genesis' lack of a saving function was a pain in the arse. The passwords were always far too long and complex, and Genesis games tended to be a bit long to play through in one sitting.

Yea I agree, a lot of the games that needed codes to get to the point that you were at, SHOULD have save features. Pac-Man Adventures was the worst too! Always have to put in that damn 20 digit code and write down every time you think you might get a game over in the next place. Mostly I'm talking about something like Megaman or Vector Man and then the other, even more awesome ones like Altered Beast and Golden Axe. I had to play Altered Beast for about 4-6 hours to actually beat it. Even though way back, I couldn't beat it at all.

I've only recently come to really appreciate arcade games, since we have a machine at work with a bunch of games. Perfect for lunch break, and a bunch of us compete on various games (right now it's Qix)
