Hey my name is Matt, Im 14. Im from Ireland, And i decided i wanted to get into game designing about a year ago but since watching your videos ive decided to look into the more hardcore sides of game development; Programming.

Re: Introduction!
pick your programming language, and pick a small project to start with.
look for tutorials that might cover the basics, and often these can be adapted. start changing things and see what happens.
decide on your target platform.
make mistakes, and have someone critique your code.

Re: Introduction!
thanks, I'll most likely use C++ once im more advanced, In the mean time do you have any suggestions for what language i should use?
Re: Introduction!
if you understand the general principles and the programming paradigms, then you can do just about the same thing with each language
pick a language and get past the initial learning curve. i dont know whether to suggest c++ java c# or whatever, get some books or tutorials and get learning
i started with php, then c#, now actionscript - and they all have similarities, but totally different platforms (web, win32 apps, flash games)

All pretty basic, But in a couple of years when i head to university, Ill hopefully be far more advanced than other ' Newbies ' thanks to the AiGDC series.
