TV MAN
About
TV Man is a game about our favourite appliance - in superhero form! TV Man is on a quest to stop the evil Dr. Radio from destroying TV itself. He has already corrupted some of our favourite TV characters, and won't stop until TV is gone for good.
Mechanics
The game features many TV cliches, for example, you are able to pick up and drop an anvil onto your enemies to kill them. The enemies you face are the childhood TV characters you love, although they have been corrupted by Dr. Radio.
You can also use power ups, such as a speed boost and invisibility. Each power up comes with its own post-processing effect, and advantages. You are also able to simply punch your way through enemies, or avoid them completely using the invisibility power ups.

Oddly enough, I barely watched/watch any TV. If that was the case he'd be called PC Man ;Dk1net1k wrote:this is what happens when you watch too much tv as a kid

Quick question: Why do you outline your "dirt/grass blocks"?
It would look a lot more fluent if you had no outline, so it would look like one big nice platform, instead of 100 lego bricks :p
However, looks pretty sweet. Good luck! :D

It was mainly for when I was drawing so I knew the boundaries, I was going to remove the lines before but forgot. Thanks for reminding me! :DsuperLED wrote:Quick question: Why do you outline your "dirt/grass blocks"?

Re: TV Man - 2D sidescrolling platformer development
Hey guys. Another update. I've added in a debug console, power ups (although they don't work yet), new art, a little idle animation and levels now load from files instead of being randomly generated/hardcoded.

Should have another YouTube video up tomorrow!

The powerups system is complete, not really sure what to work on to show off for the next video.

Looks awesome!
A debug console is really handy.
Looking forward to your new Youtube video :D
Edit: Oh, you uploaded the video right before I wrote this post.
I can see you are coming along with your progress. That's nice!
It looks much better now without the blockiness ^^
