How did you stumble across the Elysian Shadows Project?
We're interested in finding out where you all came from, and what lead you to our YouTube series and these forums. Feel free to leave a more detailed response as a reply below after selecting an option from the poll.
Also, if you found us via an explicit search and remember approximately what the query was you can also include that.
Personally, I found it while browsing YouTube. It was much too long ago for me to remember how exactly though.

Re: How did you stumble across the Elysian Shadows Project?
I searched for some game development videos on Youtube, and i found the ES channel. Then I watched the few chapters they had there, subscribed and watched every videos that followed.
Eventually found out about the forum, and start lurking around as soon as possible, until I found out that I should make myself a user.

I can't remember the exact search query, but I remember browsing youtube on videos regarding how to start game development. I stumbled upon the original, 'Game Development: Where To Begin' videos and from there I was hooked.
I'll make your software hardware.

Browsing for making games or something like that on youtube, stumbled across the "Game Development: Getting Started" video, and just browsed through the channel videos of which I got addicted to keep watching new videos and rewatching a few videos at times.

Nohbdy wrote:...my story of finding here, it was very simple. I was just browsing another forum, trying to learn programming concepts whether I was ready for them or not. In this case it was here: http://www.gamedev.net/topic/623358-com ... try4930897
GameDev.net, a video to help explain the difference between Component-based and Inheritance-based design, which a piece of your "Adventure" surely did help explain.
As soon as I saw the video, I noticed "Wait a second.... programming/game-development educational stuff inside an entertaining series documenting the life of a small independent team of people making a game!?..." then either I exploded, or I watched more. So far watched all of Chapter 17 first, and the "trailer" for 18, but then went back and started from 1 and made my way up to 11 or something.
I guess you could "perhaps" say either it was GameDev.net, or YouTube that led me here(but I mean, how far does that go? Do I thank Google for finding me GameDev? Thank Microsoft and my Internet Provider for getting me to Google? Thank the individual companies of each circuit and component in my computer and the inventors of them all and the math that the ancients discovered and their parents who created them and... etc?).... but I'm pretty sure the true motivator was the videos themselves, which in-turn means the people in the videos..
..Oh hey I guess that means you[The Elysian Shadows Team] referred me here! Thanks man! xP

Re: How did you stumble across the Elysian Shadows Project?
Yeah, I know I was messing around on Youtube looking for dev tutorials on game development and stumbled across one of the chapters, though I don't remember which. I do remember losing quite a bit of productivity though as I got caught up.
Dear god, they actually ported ES to a piece of celery!MarauderIIC wrote:You know those people that are like "CHECK IT OUT I just made Linux run on this piece of celery [or other random object]!!"? Yeah, that's Falco, but with ES.

Re: How did you stumble across the Elysian Shadows Project?
I was watching a directx tutorial on YouTube and the guy doing the tutorial mentioned you guys. About 5 min into it I decided to stick with OpenGL and then typed gyrovorbis into the search bar. I've been glad I did that ever since.

I believe I first stumbled on LusikkaMage and then saw GyroVorbis in the Featured Channels list.
