I don't consider my self to be a geek. Unless, you define geek as knowing how to program. Which it isn't! Hmm.. Actually, I think I rememmber looking it up in my pocket dictionary and it defined it as something like hair from an elephant's but. Or was that dude? Even though the dictionary is literaly rotting from the inside... those batteries are getting really crusty.

"Not really overly popular, but not a loser. A chick who is t3h r0xx0rz."

Like the girl I talk to on the phone for over an hour every night? :)
So maybe the nice guys do "get the girl" every so often, just have to find the right one. (Read: one that isn't shallow)

I can see that this topic is long forgotten as the many other topics on this general/off topic sector of the forums. But I don't realy know about this debate I find it semi-false. About 50-50 if you ask me...

Have you heard ANYONE call someone a "geek" at school? I think that word sounds 80ish, and is only used in movies. And notice, the people who make the movies were in high school in the 80's. Today, I don't think there are "geeks" or "nerds", there are two classes, fuqs, and respectables. lol

Not really, but now there's more like,

Prep
Emo
Goth
Punk
ect.

You forgot the hicks, but that may only pertain to my loser school. Anyone who use to be a prep is now a wannabe hillbilly.

Simpletons.

The term "geek" is actually used quite frequently at my skewl. But hey, I am a geek and a nerd and I don't even know programming! I mean hell, I am not one of those really smart kidz who like to talk about science, I am the other kind.

Showdin's exactly right. I mean, just because you get on the computer frequently doesn't mean you're a geek... Ok maybe it does. But we all have friends and stuff, so, ya' know.

Knowing how to use a computer well doesn't make you a geek.
Actually, most of the kids at my school hardly know how to use a Mac.
Last year, my school made us take a class teaching us how to use a Mac, but that class was completely useless, because nobody actually uses Macs in the real world. Kids at my school probably couldn't get off the desktop of something that ran Windows.

There are rap-listening-to, football-playing idiots who don't know what a proper noun is, "punks" who listen to Linkin Park all day, and wannabe goths.

And there are losers like me who have a total of five friends and do well in school.

Ayumberardo! (twizzler)
