you quest is to write a program that will calculate factorial(n) so factorial(6) = 720.

the person that gets the highest number will get a free IBM PC Assembly Language and Programming book
you may use any language you want, as long as it is 32bit.(because im sure most only have 32 bit cpu's and os')

for anyone that is interested,
java has BigInteger class. but id suggest if you were going for something a bit faster, make your own data structure, and start by making it 128 bits long, and experiment, you will have to have to allocate quite alot of memory if you wanna use number with 1000000+ digit length.

if you knwo what they biggest number you wanna get is you can easily see how many bits you need to represent that number.
for example if you want a number that has 300 digits, you would have to have 1024 bits. because 2^1024 = 1.797693134862315907729305190789e+308
that would be the largest number you can represent with 1024 bits. also note thqat this is unsigned numbers.

also remember that if you bit shift to the left that is the same as *2 and so on, you can also break multiplication up this way. like multiply by 4 is 2 shifts and by 8 is three and so on.

numbers that arent powers of 2 can be broken up, like lets say 36, can be 32 and 4.
here is a freebie in ASM, this will help alot if you begin delving into the abyss of performance analysis.

i would never disqualify any one for asking for help, that is a great quality in a programmer. im sure there are libraries in C/C++ for large number but i would make my own if i were you.

think of what a unsinged long long is, or make is simpler, a byte. so you have 8 bits, you can represent 2^3 = 256 numbers. if you add 2 bytes you get 16 bits. 2^16 = 65536 so you need a way to chain bits together to make a longer datatype.
search through the .h files for ints and doubles, and longs and see what you can learn from them.

alternativly you can use a different language that handles that for you. i think lua does, but im not sure. i know perl does.
