Hey, I have a suggestion, how about we make a GameDev-HowTo walkthrough wiki. Users can add topics and articles, link to youtube tutorials, but the main page is set up as a waltrhough. With step by step links to articles to make a game; how to get started, learning a language, then leading into more complex stuff like AI and collision detection.
Any thoughts/criticism?

Wikis tend to die, esp. in smaller communities like this one. And I sort of like it how it is now. Topics on demand, and whatnot :)
I realized the moment I fell into the fissure that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned.

It's not a bad idea. I'm a little against anything that's a "step-by-step how to make a game" thing, because it's not something you can have your hand held through - there are so many different types of games, and different ways of going about doing each one, it's just not realistic.
I would, however, love something like Marauder's "Guides and Resources" post as a wiki-like thing. Going through other users posts and updates to find something you need isn't as good as having one big post/page that categorizes different topics. One place to go to find tons of links to tutorials and such would be awesome.
