Angry, What Should I Do?

Post by Lord Pingas »

Have you guys ever gotten so pissed off?

Well I get pissed off a lot, so what do you people think of using programming as a way to calm your nerves?
I think that would be a good way to calm you down but I want to know what you guys think.
It's the same old fucking day for me everyday so I really need your honest opinion.

I know a lot of you people would think this is a pretty pointless topic but I don't really care at the moment. But I don't blame Falco or any of the other moderators if they delete this topic because I'm feeling pretty depressed now anyway.

Anyway, I don't care for any, "Don't spam you little noob kid " replies like that. I just want to know what you all think of programming as a why to stop you from really doing something stupid by being pissed.

Thank you and goodnight.

PS: I really won't know what to do until I get an honest reply from someone to inspire me.

Lift weights. Anger + Workout = Endorphins + stress-relief.

I'd hate to see my code when I'm angry.

Programming is the last thing I want to do when agitated. Go running or watch something funny.

Oh god, I can't program angry, I get way to frustrated. Best stress relief for me is to grab my guitar and rock out to some heavy songs with the music blasting.

Now stop spamming n00b!!!! /me runs away :dreamcast: :dreamcast: :dreamcast: :dreamcast: :dreamcast: :dreamcast:

Dear god, they actually ported ES to a piece of celery!

Same here, I don't program well when angry. I usually take my anger out on some physical activity also. Anything that doesn't hurt any people or walls ought to do. 8-)

Coding is definitely not something i would do to calm down, it already angers me enough, let alone calming me. But, hey, if it works for you, keep at it, i guess?

If you are often angry, can't concentrate on your work and stressed then you should go and see your doctor, because you might be depressed.
Depression happens often when you are experiencing social-anxiety, which is almost inevitable when you close yourself for 1 month into your basement and do nothing else but code.

As many people here suggested before, the first thing that you should do is to get some serious workout. In this case, running outside would be the best choice, because you would force yourself to get out of your house and socialise with others and your body will also make some chemicals which will make you happier and more relaxed.

You may also try listening to some relaxing music. Something like this. So, put your speaker's volume up high, sit back and enjoy. ;)

Just my 0.02 cents. :)

Thanks for all your advice, and now I know what to do know when I'm pissed off.
I was expecting everyone to tell me to get off the forums or something.
I was inspired :)

Never heard it before.. I kinda like it.

Speaking of music, I just wanted to let you know how much of an impact you've made on me Falco. I heard Tom Sawyer on the radio the other day on my way to the bank and I IMMEDIATELY thought, "Holy shit, this is Falco's garage band song!!" 8-)

Oh yeah, now I remember where I heard this song. The Virgin Monologues! ^_^
I actually kind of like it. And no, I don't really listen to much music but for this I'll make an exception.

Oh, and speaking of good ol' Mr Virgin69, me and my mate are planning on making some hilarious sketches on Youtube so I will post on the forums if I actually get round to making them. :)

If I were Falco and someone just told me that they associate Rush with the thought of them then I would be extremely flattered.
