WWII and Zombies

Post by Live-Dimension »

Before you read this - I'm quite the objective person. I'm not trying to suggest that "evil" is better then "good". Theses are just observations and ideas on a subject that I'm tired about hearing again and again.

My friend was telling me he wants to watch Dead Snow, which in his words, is supposedly the best zombie movie ever. Oh joy, another zombie movie/game/thing. Made me start thinking abit...

Am I the only one who's so tired of people using the same old stuff over and over again? It was the same with the whole world's obsession with WWII a few years ago. Countless movies have been made for WWII and I'm sure countless other games have. And why is it when it's combined (WWII and Zombies), it's always Nazi Zombies? Can there not be American zombies? Chinese? Aztec? zombie worms? Why not?

Why is the media obsessed with these stereotypes? I assume it's because they are safe and easy to make, with an almost guaranteed sale if the movie is of any decent quality. If you were German how would you feel about all these movies/games that keep coming up that puts Germany in the bad light? (I'd love to hear of any German's view on this).

Why are zombies always so evil, taking over the world? What's so wrong about being a Nazi soldier? An officer? Why can't we for just once have something different? Can't we have zombies that build hospitals and work like the rest of us? It doesn't even have to be creepy, just like everyone see attractive and unattractive people day in day out which is also objective. The look of the zombie would just be another shade of that attractive/unattractive scale.

I'm just tired of these stereo types, the great "media train" of when something does well, such as a movie, that suddenly everything else made has to mimic that movie.

Nothing really.. It's perfectly normal being a Nazi solider every once in a while.
You need a change in scenery from time to time.. decide to attack Poland, kill a jew or two.. and you know.. whatever keeps your life non-linear.

xD LOL

My friend logan made a comic about a zombie who worked in a burger joint in a city of zombies. Yes it was awesome 8-)
