If I'm sober in two hours...

Random irrelevance that just didn't fit into other forums. Talk about anything.

If I'm sober in two hours...

Please just fucking shoot me to end my misery.

This has been the roughest week of my engineering career.

Dear god, they actually ported ES to a piece of celery!

There's light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes humanity has to be thrown away for a little while (then you let it back in afterwards). Just don't do it too often - I know a guy who works in paving and asphalt back home, and with the long cold winters you lose your humanity during the summer when work is your life. They'd wake up after 4-6 hours (sometimes at whatever site they were working at) and work until they ate and went to bed (anything you ate for lunch was on the go). Many people quit it because they can't handle it or because they break down. Seems like a flawed way for an industry to work, but apparently that's just how it is. I'd never willingly do it if I had another option (though I considered it for a short while because the pay is amazing).

I know I can do that for a short while though. I hate it and try to avoid it whenever possible since I feel horribly unproductive since it kills my creativity plus my will to work on my own stuff, but I can do it at times.

Best of luck (to both of us)!

I hear ya man... I can't count the number of times I've uttered the following:

"If I didn't LOVE to program, I would HATE this fucking job!"

I haven't had to work so hard in school since... ever. I've made it this far in college due to previous experience. But now the sheer work load is catching up to my lazy ass. :)

Yesterday I thought that I made a 46% on an important test in my senior design class. I was preparing to come home and drink my sorrows away... I later found out that I actually made a 92%, so I instead came home and drank to celebrate. ;)

Good job sir! - it's always great when you do much better than you think you did.
