Re: The Old World: 2D Sandbox RPG
Hey man, thanks again another awesome update! Only feedback I have is your video is a bit painful to start. All I see is the logo for the first 3 minutes or so while you rattle off URLs I can hardly understand. Perhaps you could post the URLs in the video description and just mention them, then tal...

Re: The Old World: 2D Sandbox RPG
Heyo guys! It's been a little while, but don't worry, I haven't been slacking off. And to prove to you all that I have actually been hard at work I have brought gifts, fancy ones as well. FSSDhnNkDg8 Do please excuse the voice, 30 hours being awake coding and editing footage does tend to do that to ...

Re: Super Mario Brothers Engine
Don't want to look nasty on my first post on this forum but only the graphics are good. The code is really neither pleasant to read nor good, the game is not really working ( collisions and items picking systems are not working very well ). The good point is that it can only get better! ( I'm quite...

Re: The Old World: 2D Sandbox RPG
Why would you ever apologize for that?? Keep 'em coming! Hehe, well it felt like I was mass spamming updates, but I shall retract my apology and say cheers! err.. idk. I was trying to give a positive feedback. Like.. how much better it is to see something cool like an interesting new kind of AI-to-...

Re: TRACKVERSE (Formerly known as Project Aftershock)
Damn, I must say, very impressive! Some constructive feedback: I feel like the maps so far shown, misses a bit of height differences, and large jumps, will future maps have more of such things? And also, it feels like the rate of turning is a bit off, will it be a feature different to each ship or w...

Re: The Old World: 2D Sandbox RPG
Cheers yet again! I apologize if I post a lot of updates, but weirdly enough recently I've been making quite a bit of progress. Here is a small video of what I've been up to so far this weekend. which is the basics of my Empire AI. There are no manual inputs involved, everything is handled by the AI...

Re: The Old World: 2D Sandbox RPG
I'm not completely familiar with SQLite, but I use SQL databases for the iPhone app I have written. Anyways, in the app I use asynchronous queries that run in background threads separate from the thread that handles user input in order to allow users to continue using the app while the data is bein...

Re: The Old World: 2D Sandbox RPG
Cheers everyone! I'm very happy you all like it. I am curious about this. I was planning on using SQLite for a data-driven game that's currently in the design stages. What exactly about SQLite wasn't meeting your requirements? I'm sometimes guilty of extreme NIH syndrome myself, but databases are on...

Re: Simple 2D RPG Engine
For the trees, I would suggest just to keep them as single sprites, and draw the player in front of them or behind them depending on the player's y value in relation to the tree's. I think that would be a problem while using SDL. In OpenGL, it would be easier. Then you could just change the z value...

Re: The Old World: 2D Sandbox RPG
Heyo guys, I've finally gotten around to making a video. I tried to keep it short but ended up being a little longer than I had anticipated, hopefully it'll keep you interested all the way through if you decide to watch it. I talk about my newest changes and changes I haven't yet shown or covered su...

Re: The Old World: 2D Sandbox RPG
Heyo guys! Quick off-topic sentence, Skyrim is really time consuming and BF3 campaign as well! And before I go into anything else, time to answer your questions. Great, all the features of your weather system seems to be cool ! :) By the way, will the water / snow from clouds remain, or will it disa...

Re: The Old World: 2D Sandbox RPG
Finally kicked my arse into working again, I've had a little bit going on which made me unmotivated but now I'm back and basically almost finished the Cloud system inside my Weather system, the only tiny things I have left for the Cloud system is Movement, depending on the temperature of the area th...

Re: The Old World: 2D Sandbox RPG
Sorry for no updates for the past couple of weeks, have had a little to do and also been on a minor vacation. But now I am back, filled with energy as well as ideas, expect to see a new video and a few updates in the coming few days! I've been following this for two weeks, and think this has great p...
