That's what I was thinking. I'm not wasting my Friday (or Saturday, forgot) seeing some Disney movie.

I could be coding, gaming, or helping society in some other way rather than adding to the already outrageously large cult of Disney. No man, if the movie is anything like the previews, count me out.

What's wrong with Disney? Aladdin, Hercules, and A Goofy Movie are some of the best movies ever, animated or not.

I agree with you Drakor. It looks like a pretty good, but I haven't read the books.

I hardly ever see movies; I'll probably rent it later.

Yes, but disney has sunk really low the past last couple of years.
All they do now are remakes of the classics in new spiffy boxes.
The books are great but Douglas is dead now and for all we know they waited for him to die to botch the movie.

Yeah, that's true. Country Bears is a good example of Disney's recent "quality" film-making.

Cronicgoat! Hey, it's me, Falco!

I don't hate on Disney, but I agree that they suck ass nowadays. I still to this day like Lion King, Hercules, and several others.

If I, for some reason, see that movie and it shows anyone in space without a protective suit or helmet, I'm going to stand up and barf on the retard in front of me. I hate that so much.

Well I just saw it and my verdict is:
The book was much more in depth but it would have been really hard to reproduce all of it in the span of 2 hours. Thus the movie followed a slightly different story than the book, otherwise the movie was ok and I will be buying it on dvd regardless.

Not always. Lord of the Rings books are frightfully dull, while the movies are...well, awesome.

I think two reasons that books are usually better are:

1. There's more room to develope the plot

2. You can imagine characters and settings anyway you want to
