Over the past 3 months we have seen a massive increase in support from our own community and from media groups around the internet.
Just to save our community from being overwhelmed and we know how much you guys love reading about us and seeing our name, I thought it was best to consolidate everything that has happened over the past couple of months.
So here goes.
We released Chapter 25 a couple of weeks ago and since then we have been pushing our PR campaign as hard as we can in preparation for our Kickstarter launch. Which, just in case you haven't seen is launching on August 1st 2014. This date IS set in stone and cannot deviate from that because we only have the funds up-to-and-including August 1st. From that we need everyones help during the Kickstarter to help us reach our goals and bring Elysian Shadows to as many platforms as possible so as many people as possible can play it.
Watermelon Corp. The guys behind Pier Solar, Pier Solar HD, Project X and Project Y extended a publishing offer to us which we have accepted. I mean, come on, we would be stupid not to! Turns out they were fans of our work already and have been following us through Adventures in Game Development. Falco has been speaking extensively with Tulio (the head and all round awesome guy of Watermelon) about the ins-and-outs of the deal and what they can offer us. Right now, all we can talk about is the physical, authentic Dreamcast release. We can't yet specify which region of jewel case it will be (I am hoping for the PAL case) but we will certainly try and offer a variety. What we do know is that it will include a printed instruction manual and we could provide special/limited editions for all you collectors out their. The whole team is super stoked to be working with them. We are huge fans of the work they produce and we can't be more grateful for the help they have given us.
Speaking of publishing. We had a small meeting with the developer relations team from Ouya. They are super awesome guys and are nothing but supportive towards our project. We even showed them the game running on one of their consoles. They will be helping us with PR to promote us in the Ouya scene. We feel like we could be a flagship game for the platform and people are already telling us they want to play it on the Ouya. They also want us to be exclusive to the desktop builds (Windows, Mac and Linux) and Ouya when we launch around a year after the Kickstarter campaign ends. While we are on-board with the suggestion we cannot leave out our biggest fan base - the Dreamcast indie scene. Those guys have supported us since the beginning as our project was originally exclusive to that console. We discussed this with them and we are just waiting on confirmation that we can release on the Dreamcast at launch under this exclusivity umbrella. They are receptive of our plans and they seem certain that we shouldn't find any problems with doing this. We feel they shouldn't be competing with a 14 year old console anyway :P
Even bigger news is that Falco quit his job!
That's right, he quit. He can now work full-time on Elysian Shadows. If you don't remember the progress he made in Chapter 25 when he took a sick day off from work then go and watch it now. Patryk and myself will be flying over to Alabama in July to work alongside him and get as much of the game done before the Kickstarter launches. We should make SERIOUS progress in those 4 weeks working in the same room, in the same time zone. We will no doubt be recording ourselves for AiGD also.
Moving on to Adventures in Game Development we should be able to produce our legendary video series a lot more frequently. Falco has purchased some upgrades for the camera and given his lack of employment he can now start whoring himself out again. We all know he loves his YouTube fame and we all know you guys love watching or antics and most importantly our progress with Elysian Shadows.
At the bottom of this article is a list of some of the most recent article we have had written about Elysian Shadows. If you have some time to read then please do. You may discover things you didn't already know.
To those sites and individuals that have showed us some love and helped support us and our project that we may have missed from the list - we are truly sorry! We are extremely grateful for any support and you're all awesome.
