It has been a long time coming for the release of our new Elysian Shadows website. Myself and the rest of the team have been eager to deliver a website worthy of the wait. Your continued support on Youtube, Facebook, and the Chaos Rift keeps us motivated. So to all the fans out there, we most humbly thank you.
Branding & Social Media
You will immediately notice that the site has undergone a massive overhaul. Our goal as a team was to create a website that represented Elysian Shadows as a brand. We want people to recognize us when they see our logo and associate it with Elysian Shadows and independent game development. The first thing I'd like to point out is the website's social media buttons. Inside the header, you will notice buttons for each of the social networks Elysian Shadows is currently using. Take some time to say hey to us on Facebook, comment on one of our videos on Youtube, or tweet to us on Twitter!
The Adventures in Game Development
Following our successful release of the Adventures in Game Development Chapters 18, 19, and 20 (video series that follows the team's progress while creating Elysian Shadows), we wanted fans to have the ability to watch us not only from Youtube, but from the website! Currently, the AIGD Series will take you to our Youtube site, but by the end of Summer 2012 all chapters will be available on the website.
The Community
By far, the community and fans of Elysian Shadows have meant the most to us during these years of Youtube shenanigans. To be completely honest, none of us on the team would be where we are today without the daily support you all. And for that, we wanted to make 100% sure that the main focus of the new website was our Community section. For tonight's marquee launch, the old forums will be getting a facelift also. To continue in our quest for trendiness and making Elysian Shadows its own unique brand, the forums will now mimic the style and formatting of the new site! How's this look?
The forums will experience some formatting changes in the following weeks, but the overall look and feel is here to stay. We hope you like it! Of course, you will have the option of going retro and switch back too.
Features Coming Soon
We can't give all the sweet details away too soon, but expect big things bi-weekly from the Elysian Shadows Team. Currently, our biggest goals are to overhaul more Community features including team blogs, tutorials, and the showcase. The plans for the Showcase is to highlight other indie developers out there. As gamers, we are constantly blown away by the inovation we see on the forums from other developers. That's why we want to showcase your current projects on our site.
