I honestly didn't realize how long it had been since my previous update… I can't believe a month has passed. Between school starting back up, women issues (for the 999th time), and casually working on the Toolkit here and there, I didn't realize that I had kind of let the project sit in a state of stagnation until just the other day. I had worked my ass off pretty much the entire Christmas break on the toolkit… and nobody has physically been able to see any of my progress. I kind of let the fact that Marcel hadn't finished tile selection allow me to not bother getting a stable ready-to-go build to you guys, but I can't (and you guys can't) wait any longer. I've been up all night last night and all day today from a random wave of dev-driven determination. The time has come with or without tile selection. Our first official Toolkit release!

Okay, so for those of you who didn't know, I have been extremely sick this entire last week. Actually, today is the first day since then that I can finally say that I've recovered. I even had a 103 degree fever on Christmas... but that's enough bitching. This hasn't slowed any of my progress in the slightest. I have continued my faithful pursuit of the Policy of Pristinity rather than opting to follow the Requiem of Reest. I have a lot of exciting new stuff to show off for you gents.

I'll spare you the usual dramatic intro, as it has only been like 2 days since the last update... though I will say that I have been slaving my ass off on this stuff. I'm veeery excited to have some of this stuff done, and I'm even more excited to soon hand this over to you guys and have you take full advantage of the engine...

[b]Entities/Sprites[/b]

The most major update of this build is the ability to interact with entities (to an extent). Previously (in this toolkit, Marcel's last editor, and Marauder's editor), you have only ever been able to edit the terrain (tile and object layers) comprising a level. FINALLY we are able to populate our levels/areas with Entities!

So I'm back at Starbucks bright and early this Monday morning. I've been spending 8-10 hours here at a time working on the toolkit. I am long overdue for an update (I keep saying I'll do it later, since I'm working so much on it.) Oh well. I would rather do them more frequently since this is the case.
